The Bug Zapper: The Ant Arrives! Bug Zapper is a superhero that fights a bevy of bug-themed villains like Mean Mosquito, Butterfly Bob, and the Black Ant. His powers are the flexibility to leap actually far - I feel he’s leaping and not flying - and, like his namesake, a nasty jolt of electricity that stops bug villains in their tracks. That is extra of a gentle spoof of the superhero genre than a genuine batman or spiderman-kind comic. Yes, Zone Defender villains do get zapped, but no one will get really hurt. Artist and writer Tom Eaton makes good use of vibrant colors and simple traces - the drawings strike me as slightly Peanut-esque - to create a comic book that’ll draw kids in. It’s hard to stroll by this without choosing it up for a peek. There are two books thus far - Bug Zapper and Bug Zapper: The Ant Arrives!
